Swarovski's CCT or Compact Carbon Tripod weighs only 3.3 pounds and at 20.5" closed, it fits in most carry-on luggage. Fully extended and it's nearly 5' 3", and you'll put a head and payload on top of that. No birding rig I’ve ever seen even gets close to the 39-pound maximum payload. When closed, you can turn all three rubber-grip twist leg-locks open with one hand. Lightweight carbon fiber doesn’t pull the warmth from your hands in winter as aluminum does, and it doesn’t ring like a halyard flapping against a metal flagpole when your keys or ring touch it, either. Removeable shoulder pads make for comfortable carrying. Legs offer three leg angle options, and the detachable hook on the center column allows for weights to be attached if needed. Accepts heads with either ¼" or 3/8” threads.
