Product Overview
Leica Trinovid HD 10x42
Let's start with some history! This venerable name first appeared in 1958. The word Trinovid was formed from "Tri" (three) and "Novi" (new or novel) innovations, which were (1) true internal focusing, (2) ergonomic construction, and (3) superior optical performance. Six decades later, Leica Camera AG (Wetzlar) introduced the new generation of 42 mm models in the Trinovid HD family. At 25.8 ounces, they are among the lightest in their class; the 15 mm eye relief and four click-stop eyecups work for most eyeglass wearers. The 339-foot field of view doesn’t break any new ground among 10x42 optics, but the 5.3-foot close focus is great for butterfly watching, though some viewers with a narrow IPD may experience some parallax. Overall, the Leica Trinovid HD 10x42 binocular offers superior viewing quality for wildlife enthusiasts and are among the best binoculars under $1000.
