Product Overview
Hawke Sport Optics 12x50 Vantage Binoculars
A 12x50 isn't for everyone; the field of view is noticeably less than an 8x32 or 8x42, while the shallower depth of field won't help you in brush or woods. But if you're mostly scanning for waterfowl or shorebirds on lakes, mudflats, and marshes, or stationary doing a sea watch or mountain hawk watch, it can give you an extra reach you'll appreciate. The field of view is nearly identical to a 10x50, and at only 25.3 ounces they are very close to most 8x42's in weight. The minimum IPD of 61 mm may not fit some with a narrow IPD.
