Hawke Sport Optics 8x32 Frontier ED X Binoculars
The Frontier APO and ED X models both feature extra-low dispersion glass, dielectric prism coatings, and a durable magnesium alloy chassis. The 8x32 is a compact little handful. It offers excellent color rendition; just scanning a forest on an overcast day, one enjoys every nuance of green, and dull or shiny leaves pop. It provides a full field of view even with eyeglasses. The silky smooth focus wheel glides to a very satisfying crispness. If you're looking in the just-under $500 range, consider including the Frontier series on your short list.
